Welcome!

The 6th annual Global Biosimilars Week (GBW) is a flagship initiative from the International Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association. For 2025, this digital campaign takes place November 3-7, 2025 with a mission to raise global awareness of the powerful and lifechanging impact of biosimilar medicines.

As a global community, , we can create a movement to advance access to biosimilar medicines. We invite patients, healthcare professionals, government organizations and all interested parties to utilize our GBW25 social media toolkit and share resources about biosimilar medicines online, using #GlobalBiosimilarsWeek.

Look below for more information on the various ways to get involved as we spread the word, together, about the incredible world-wide value of biosimilar medicines!

Biosimilars: A Wise Investment for Global Health

This year’s theme puts biosimilar medicines at the heart of smart investment in global health. Better access to cost-effective, biosimilar medicines represents a strategic choice for both sustainable healthcare systems and equitable patient access. There have been great strides made in the efficient approval, market acceptance and adoption of biosimilar biologic medicines over the past two decades, but across the globe, there is still work to be done. Inequity can impact all geographies; and in many countries patient access to these essential treatments continues to be a challenge.

Through stakeholder input, examples and case studies, we aim to illustrate the impact of biosimilar medicines to people and communities, how biosimilar medicines policies can be designed to expand access to life changing therapeutic options in diverse settings, and how to deliver on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) — making sure biosimilars deliver better outcomes for patients living with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
